Soldiers Point along with Pelican Point are two headlands that attract a good variety of shorebirds. Soldiers Point is easily accessible from the car park just north of the Soldiers Beach Surf Club. Pelican Point is the headland about 800 metres to the south. Access to Soldiers point can be affected by high tides. Also it is more likely that birds will be disturbed here due to close proximity to the car park.

These headlands can be good spots for sea bird watching when the weather/winds are favourable.
