Saunders Island
Saunders Island with its spectacular vistas is in the North West of the Falkland Islands. The Settlement, the Neck and the Rookery are the three different accommodation locations. The isthmus of the Neck is one of the best-known wildlife sites on the Falklands. There is abundant wildlife here with Gentoo, Rockhoppers and even a small colony of King Penguins present. The Rookery is within an easy walk to Black-browed Albatross nesting sites, a Southern Rockhopper Penguin colony and a long sandy beach with Magellanic penguins and waterfowl. The Settlement would not be my choice for a wildlife photographer.
