Pebble Island is in the North West of the Falklands. Currently it is my understanding that this island is for sale, so I'm not sure what the accommodation/visiting arrangements will be in the future. This is a long island with penguin colonies in spectacular coastal settings. Unless you like a long hike to get to these colonies requires a four wheel drive and a guide, provided by the lodge. This island is currently the most reliable location to find and photograph Macaroni Penguins. There is plenty of wildlife within easy walking distance of the settlement with some of the best ponds for photographing waterfowl easily accessible. This was also my favourite location for photographing White-rumped Sandpiper, Night Heron and Rufous-chested Dotterel.
