McPherson Road Swamp

This freshwater swamp is located in McPherson Road, Tuggerah. Access is best from Gavenlock Road opposite the church. From here there is an informal track that makes its way to the southern side of the main pond. I understand that this land is owned by a developer with no current restrictions on access.

Birds commonly seen, though they may be seasonal:

Black Swan, Hoary-headed Grebe, Australasian Grebe, Pacific Black Duck, Grey Teal, Chestnut Teal, Hardhead, Pink-eared duck, Freckled Duck, Royal Spoonbill, Yellow Spoonbill, Australian Ibis, Glossy Ibis, Straw-necked Ibis, Latham's Snipe, Black-fronted Dotterel, Red-kneed Dotterel, White-headed Stilt, Great Egret, Intermediate Egret, Little Egret, Superb Fairy-wren, Southern Emu-wren, Red-browed Finch, Chestnut-breasted Mannikin, Tawny Grassbird, Little Grassbird, Golden-headed Cisticola, Purple Swamphen, Eurasian Coot, Dusky Moorhen, Black-shouldered Kite, Whistling Kite, Swamp Harrier, Dollarbird.
