The old Pioneer Dairy farm site at Tuggerah on the Central coast of NSW has just been awarded one million in government funds to up grade the site to make it into a world class wetland and environmental attraction. The site consists 472ha of mixed habitat, though a good portion is still dedicated to dairy farming. Though currently not open to the pubic, the local birding group already make regular visits to the site with many species being recorded. The work should take between six and 12 months to complete.
